The developer, who’s application to build an industrial park in Bredfield was rejected in November 2024, has lodged an appeal to have the rejection overturned. This is a standard part of the process with the hearing being scheduled for Tuesday 20th May 2025.

We have until the 24th of February 2025 to submit our objections (called representations), supporting commentary and documents against the appeal. The original 114 objections to the development are all provided to the Inspector of the appeal, all representations should be new information and challenges to the (multitude) of inaccuracies contained in the appeal document which can be found here named “STATEMENT OF CASE”.

Representations can be submitted here: https://acp.planninginspectorate.gov.uk/

Appeal reference: APP/X3540/W/24/3357436.

The developer hasn’t chosen to change a single word of the application that was refused and has instead decided to try and discredit the rejection itself.

The refusal from the Local Planning Authority (LPA) was well defined, detailed, clear, specific and incontrovertible and can be found here named “REFUSE – FULL APPLICATION”.

The appeal however doesn’t seem to adhere to limitations set out in the Bredfield neighbourhood plan, the East Suffolk Council Suffolk Coastal Local Plan and the National Planning Policy Framework (2023).

Forge demolition application

Additionally the developer has submitted a new application to have the Forge preemptively demolished.

What can you do?
